​The Judicial Form Retirement System was created in 1980 and charged with the administration of the Judicial Retirement Plan and the Legislators Retirement Plan.

  • The Judicial Retirement Plan was established in 1960 by the General Assembly and its membership includes all Justices of the Supreme Court and Judges of the Court of Appeals, Circuit, Family and District Court Judges. The statutes governing the Judicial Retirement Plan are Kentucky Revised Statutes 21.345 to 21.570. 

  • The Legislators Retirement Plan was established in 1980 for members of the General Assembly and is governed by Kentucky Revised Statutes 6.500 to 6.577. 

The Board of Trustees and Committees meet quarterly during the months of January, April, July, and October.  JFRS offices are located in the Whitaker Bank Building in Frankfort Kentucky.
